Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party she has previously been a part of the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant communications director (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a political contributor to CNN from 2017 through 2020. Psaki started her professional career in 2001 by working on the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki then served as the press secretary deputy for John Kerry's 2004 presidential election campaign. From 2005 until the year 2006, Psaki served as communications director to U.S. representative Joseph Crowley and as regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] Psaki was named spokesperson for United States Department of State in February 2013. [20] There was speculation that she would succeed Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary at the Department of State.[21] But Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30 in 2014. The White House welcomed her back to the White House in 2015 as the communications director, and she was there until the closing of the Obama presidency.
